Seal of the United States Department of State.

By now, you’ve probably heard of WikiLeaks, and their latest release of years of confidential cables between US embassies and the State Department.  The overriding comments include “How did we let this happen?” and “We need to come down hard on these evildoers”…  and not so much on the “Why now?” or “Who orchestrated this?” questions.

You either believe that everything happens by chance, or that there is some kind of a plan involved.  In this case, I find it hard to believe that anyone — even someone well-connected — could steal this much material on his own and be able to publish it without someone in power either allowing or condoning it.  And if someone allowed or condoned it, then there has to be a reason.  The next few days will tell the tale.  I don’t believe we’ll have long to wait for the answers.

Wishing that the government would “bring the top down” might be exactly what they want.  Prepare to lose more freedoms if that happens.  This could explain the whole mess.
